THE SERBIAN COMMITTEE FOR THE REUNIFICATION OF THE PARTHENON SCULPTURES "MELINA MERCOURI" became active in 1997 although it was officially founded in Belgrade on May 24, 2002 with the goal of using its activities and engagement to contribute to the return of the sculptural decorations from the Parthenon which are kept in the British Museum in London for over two centuries. Return of the Parthenon Sculptures to the new Acropolis Museum in Athens is not only a technical issue or the will of one or number of individuals but ethnic question each admirer of antic art has to ask himself and international community.
